The Kelmarsh Show is thrilled to welcome the return of the popular BASC Scurry League, kindly sponsored by Skinner’s Field & Trial.  There will be a range of daily competitions, including for Juniors and Novices, across the whole weekend. With some amazing prizes worth over £1000 up for grabs, handlers will also have the chance to qualify for the prestigious Grand Final at the Weston Park Country Fair too.

How it works

Once the dog crosses over the line the clock starts; each return over the line stops the clock. Dogs maybe kept on leads or held.

Cost to take part

Open Daily competition £2.50 per run
Novice handler & Dog competition £2.50 per run
Junior competition £2 per run
Scurry League Qualifier competition £3 for entry card + £2.50 per run

The BASC Scurry League – Qualifying rules

  1. All normal BASC Scurry rules apply.
  2. Specific entry forms for the Scurry League qualifying competition must be purchased from the booking in tent at £3 each. Only one form per handler and dog combination per day.
  3. Runs for Scurry League qualifying competition must be nominated before the run commences.
  4. The top two dogs and handlers each day in the Scurry League qualifying competition will automatically be entered into the Grand Final and therefore will be unable to place in future qualifying events.
  5. A list of reserve dogs and handlers for the Grand Final will be created from those placing third in each Scurry League qualifier. A dog and handler combination will only be entered once on the reserve list.
  6. Should a place at the Grand Final become available a random draw will be conducted from the reserve list to fill the position.
  7. A handler may only compete in the Grand Final with a maximum of two separate (qualified) dogs.
  8. A dog may only be qualified by one handler for a place in the Grand Final.
  9. Only those competing in the Grand Final will be eligible for the prizes awarded at the Final.
